As a final review project for my 1st period World History class, my students created theme parks based on civilizations we have learned about in this course. Their theme parks had to include rides, restaurants, and characteristics that were related to our study. Some students drew their theme parks, some created popsicle stick versions of their parks, and one student created a virtual theme park using the video game, MineCraft! I would post a video of my student explaining his theme park, but the file is too large. I have included a screen shot of his game that shows an overview of his park which includes a replica of the Roman Colosseum and the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. The characters he included around his park to greet guests included Julius Caesar and Constantine. My students did great even though they only had a couple of days at the end of the semester to complete this project.
