My 5th period students researched various aspects of local history. They wrote 2-3 page papers on their selected topics and brought visuals to use during their oral presentations. Some students chose to use their artistic talents while others were able to gather artifacts from people in the community. Topics included the Battle of Staunton River Bridge, local Native American tribes, the local Masonic lodge, the Saxe community, a noted local midwife, and historic houses in the area, among others. Shoutout to Mrs. Walker for getting together the research for us!
Students in my 3rd period WHI class created pictures showing the characteristics of the Paleolithic and Neolithic Eras. Some of our students have a lot of artistic talent!
